DESCRIZIONE DEL PROGETTO

Il Progetto “Realizzazione di un telescopio robotico per il monitoraggio dell’attività solare” è cofinanziato dall’Unione Europea nell’ambito del Programma Quadro Comunitario Horizon 2020. L’intervento prevede la realizzazione di un prototipo di telescopio robotico, che possa effettuare un costante monitoraggio dell’attività solare. Tra le azioni c’è anche la possibilità di integrazione in un network di osservatori a diverse longitudini. In quest’ottica lo strumento si configura come un prodotto di facile modularità, per garantire la sorveglianza dell’attività solare in maniera continuativa nell’arco delle 24 ore. Questa particolare tecnica osservativa è possibile grazie all’impiego di filtri magneto-ottici (MOF) estremamente stabili, che costituiscono una tecnologia ormai ben sviluppata nel campo della ricerca scientifica. Il progetto proposto diventa uno strumento fondamentale per dare una risposta alla ormai crescente richiesta di informazioni dettagliate sullo space weather, creando un prodotto di facile utilizzo anche per gli utenti meno esperti.

SOSTEGNO FINANZIARIO RICEVUTO

A fronte di un investimento di € 954.854,00 è stato deliberato un finanziamento agevolato di € 668.397,80 pari al 70% del costo complessivo ritenuto ammissibile

“Construction of a robotic telescope for monitoring solar activity”

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

The project “Construction of a robotic telescope for  Solar Activity Monitoring” is co-financed by the European Union under the Community Framework Program Horizon 2020.

The project involves the construction of a prototype of a robotic telescope, which can perform a constant solar activity monitoring. Among the actions there is also the possibility of integration into a network of observers at different longitudes. Keeping this in mind, the instrument is configured as a easy modularity product, to ensure the monitoring of a countinuosly Solar Activity, over 24 hours. This particular observation technique is possible thanks to the use of extremely stable Magneto-Optical Filters (MOF), which are now a well developed technology, in the field of scientific research. The proposed project becomes a fundamental tool to respond to the now growing demand for detailed information on Space Weather, creating a product that is easy to use even for less experienced users.
